Human Equality is a right not a privilege. Please support these, or the many other organizations making an effort for a lasting change in our local and global communities. We can all be part of the solution to the systemic inequality and hypocrisies in this country.

Black Lives Matter - Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.

Pennsylvania Prison Society -
We are the unbiased source about what is happening behind Pennsylvania prison walls. The mission of the Pennsylvania Prison Society is to advocate for humane prisons and a rational approach to criminal justice.

Youth Art & Self-Empowerment Project - The Youth Art & Self-Empowerment Project (YASP) is building a youth-led movement to end the practice of  trying and incarcerating young people as adults.  Through its work in the Philadelphia jails, YASP provides space for incarcerated young people to express themselves creatively and to develop as leaders both within and beyond the prison walls.  Young people who have been through the adult court system are at the forefront of YASP, leading the movement to keep young people out of adult prisons and to create new possibilities for youth around the city.

Philadelphia Bail Fund -  Every day, hundreds of Philadelphians languish in the city’s jails awaiting trial simply because they cannot afford bail. Deprived of their freedom, these individuals’ lives are severely disrupted. They risk losing their jobs, housing, and custody of their children without ever first being convicted of a crime. Like many other aspects of our nation's criminal justice system, people of color are disproportionately subjected to this unfair penalty. The result is a system that criminalizes poverty, strips people who are poor of their presumption of innocence, and insults their right to a fair trial.  The Philadelphia Bail Fund is a revolving fund that posts bail for people who are indigent and cannot afford bail. Our goal is to keep families and communities together and vigorously advocate for the end to cash bail in Philadelphia.

Black Voters Matter Fund -
Our goal is to increase the power in our communities. Effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny.
Increasing voter registration and turnout is an important aspect of building power. We advocate for policies to expand voting rights/access, including expanded early voting, resisting voter ID, re-entry restoration of rights and strengthening the Voting Rights Act.  We also advocate for policies that intersect with race, gender, economic and other aspects of equity. We help development infrastructure where little/none exists.  This includes staff training, candidate development and network development.
